Driven by the steady growth of AGS - Automation Gripping Systems Schwope GmbH - the groundbreaking ceremony for the extension hall on the AGS site in Bergisch-Gladbach took place last March. In the years 2015 to 2017, the workforce had increased by more than 50%, so the previous production area of 350m² burst at the seams. At the same time, new production areas were added, such as surface treatment and 3D printing (laser-sintering). So it was time to get bigger and in September 2017 we could move into an additional 850m².
In the newly designed production hall, all cutting machines are now spatially separated. Another new feature is a separate area for the trainees with their own machinery. The managing director Marc Schwope is very confident that the space won will be enough for the next three to five years before a new building has to be tackled.
